Michael Wakeman is a pharmacist and healthcare consultant. He has master’s degrees in pharmaceutical analysis, nutritional medicine, and clinical oncology. Previously MD of Scotia Pharmaceuticals which developed fatty acid supplements for clinical use, he now works as a consultant in commercial business development, as well as strategic management of clinical trials. As chair of the Guild of Health Writers, he is a regular contributor to consumer and specialist health publications, whilst his clinical research has high recognition in the peer reviewed literature. Currently, completing a Professional Doctorate investigating the impact of medication on micronutrient status, the research has led to the development of a proprietary on-line platform which uses this data to deliver evidence based personalised nutrition recommendations to consumers in the context of community pharmacy
